Inquiry-rich and standards-based, BSCS Science & Technology guides students across the disciplines and provides them with an enduring understanding of the foundations of science and technology. This three-year middle school science program takes an innovative, multidisciplinary approach to learning about the earth, life, and physical sciences and sets a foundation for further STEM learning. 

Middle School Life Science provides a variety of hands-on activities that emphasize the understanding and care of the human body, capture students’ interest, and encourage them to broaden their understanding of science fundamentals. Students work independently, with partners, and in small groups to focus on key concepts in biology. Concepts are introduced with hands-on experiences, and then further developed through discussions, mini-lectures, and/or readings. 

Technology in Practice: Applications and Innovations is a completely digital, activity-driven supplemental science curriculum that teaches students in grades 6-9 the importance of technology and innovation. It consists of three online modules that may be integrated with any science program to emphasize technology and engineering concepts. The program supports STEM learning goals, the National Research Council’s Framework for K-12 Education, and the Next Generation Science Standards. Modules can be taught in any order and include an introductory chapter called Doing Technology that illustrates the process of how technology is used to solve problems that occur in daily life. The chapter sets the stage for future learning as students progress through other modules, which are accessible from any Internet-enabled device, including PCs, Macs, iPads, and tablets.
